Why can’t they make cheap super cars?

Kiersten Clayburn: Because then they would be cheap, and low quality.

Lawanna Livsey: Because then they wouldn't be "super cars"I know a mechanic works for ford and had a chance to look at Aston martins back when ford owned them, they were built out of the same stuff ford used. Its not really the materials that make up the price of a carThey do make "affordable" performance cars, but if you want a car out of the dealership that is a "super car" then you have to pay for it...Show more

Agustina Stimmel: The very definition of a supercar is why. Super cars are generally excessive in every way. Huge power, very wide or low or long (or any combination thereof), and incredibly unpractical. They are usually hand-made of exotic materials in limited quantities. This level of craftsmanship is what makes them so expensive. With that said, prices are relative. If you could afford to spend $200k on a car in a year and not sweat it, I'm sure you would do it too. I pe! rsonally know someone who buys a brand new Porsche every year just because she can. Last year it was a $167,000 911 GT3 RS. Then again, she made in excess of $200,000 just in the month of January, and that was her lowest check in 10 years. Everything else is paid for so what she earns she just reinvests and spends on toys, and in her case, it's Porsches....Show more
