Gregg Hagge: I am thinking about going to Miami for college. I have not visited it in person so before I commit I have to ask, what is so bad about it that causes it to consistently be ranked among the "worst" or "most miserable" cities in the United States? How bad can a city located on the southern tip of Florida be?
Sheron Perrez: It is not, that's the Media, as usual, pooping in other peoples lives... Come visit, relax, enjoy, welcome!!!!!
Marna Liddie: south beach!!!!! make sure to go to mango's have fun!!!!
Hwa Waterford: I'm going to Miami next week and I was wondering where are the best places to eat/drink/hang out? Also, nice beaches?
Weldon Totaro: Yes. There is an elevated train - Metro-Rail -- and an extensive bus system. Fare is $1.50 for either plus $.50 transfer from one to the other. Residents over 65 can apply for a free pass. Downtown has a FREE elevated transport system -- Metro-Mover - that has central, southern & northern l! oops that will take you within a few blocks of just about anywhere downtown.
Erin Arron: Is florida , specifically Miami known for their education system? If so, what district in the urban areas (city) are safe and have good education systems? Also, are there a lot of golf courses ? Is golf big over there? Are scholorships for girls highly likely ?
August Hubbard: Yes, great transpotation system: Metrorail is an elevated rail system that runs North-South with 22 stations that connect a major portion of Miami-Dade County to business, cultural and shopping centers. Also Metromover, which is free automated people-mover system that serves Downtown Miami.Metrobus is in Miami-Dade County down to Broward County with 94 routes year-round.And, Tri-Rail is a commuter rail system that links Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties..They also provide free shuttle service to/from all three airports....Show more
Ileen Oshell: Tri rail is pretty good.
Idell Mul! liniks: of course there is ! =D should be no more than 50 cent! s or so
Mario Stricklan: Sure we do, depends on what your using....
Devon Kalberer: of course they do!
Lourie Mcroberts: yes
Gilberto Cratin: South Beach is definitely the best, but Coconut Grove is good too. My favorite beach is Crandon Park, it's the most naturalistic.
Roxane Leathers: Yes we do....MLAW got it down pact. There are many city buses that take various routes($1.50reg for adult...students 75cents), the MetroRail(elevated train-$1.50 each time you go through the gate), Metromovers(strictly the downtown/overtown/brickell areas) and then there is also the Tri-Rail train(im not sure how much that is).
Merna Fauset: i think so.,.,.,
Bailey Lares: I think yes
Julieta Suleiman: yah they do!
Zulema Baccam: How much is the fare for public transportation?
Alonso Crehan: I don't know why no one has mentioned that most people here don't like our public transportation system. Unless you're trying to go up and dow! n US1 and into downtown you wont get the metro, and the buses take longer than they should. The bus system is improving a little, but if your job is in the wrong place, or you don't live next to a bus stop, it could take some time. I ride bike a lot, but miami is pretty spread out. It's kind of important here to have a car....Show more
Myriam Hetjonk: Your education answers are too broad. There are 37 public high schools in Miami-Dade County with varying curriculum. For more answers, each school has a website and a Wikipedia article. Wiki should get you in the right direction and then you could dig deeper:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Miami-Dade_Co...There are good and bad crime areas. This crime map of the county may help:http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/fl/miami/crime/I can certainly tell you that the MIami area is a golfer's paradise. Here are some public courses:http://www.miamiforvisitors.com/attractions/golf-c......Show more
Kalyn Proietto: Some do..! the Metro Rail [what its called] mostly takes you downtown and to beac! h areas. No taxis, I've only seen those in Key West. The Metro Rail cost $1.50 I believe....
