What happens if your car registration is suspended?

Lillie Yarde: I bet from not paying those parking tickets that your drivers license is suspended. That is a big problem because you can not get auto insurance with a suspended drivers license. I doubt the franchise tax board is after you. That usually does not happen. What does happen is those parking tickets get sent to a collection agency. They are probly the ones after you. Just tell them to stop threatening you or you will report them and to put your phone number on their "do not call list". Your parents are going to have to put their name on the car registration and probly the insurance too. Hope you are not driving with a suspended drivers license because that will cause you a lot more problems. That is a major violation with 2 points that stays on your DMV record for 7 years. Please do not drive with a suspended drivers license. If you want to get your own auto insurance try Farmers or Progressive. They take people with suspended licenses,! most companies don't. Or, you can try the assigned risk program. But that is just liability so if you are financing the car that will not work. You should get an old car that does not need to be financed so you only need liability on it....Show more
