car seat question (is this legal?)?

Sol Bayn: WEll, maybe she is going by the weight requirements. It says 30lbs, but no, it is not that safest choice.

Branden Roddick: No, that is not legal. He needs to be at least 40 lbs to be in a booster seat as well as 38'' tall. It is not safe or legal for him to be in that car seat. She needs to use a different car seat and save that one for later when he is old enough for it.

Estrella Northway: In the state I live in they cannot use a booster like that one until they are 4 years old. Check the laws for your state and then email them to her.

Nedra Oltz: Why dont you ask your mom. Maybe she can convince you dad. Frankly you are too young to earn any money right now. But if you really want to then you can do odd jobs for your neighbors

Robin Tommie: I have a 4 year old and a 2 year and was pregnant both times too so I feel your pain :)yes lack of sleep can effect appetite as well as their behaviour in general. you didn't mention when she wakes! up so im not sure how much sleep she would be getting. you should aim for 12 hours, so if its 8 pm she shouldn't wake until 8 am - 7.30 at the earliest, if she gets up any earlier then yes she is struggling with lack of sleep with my daughter we are always big on afternoon activities, so luch is done by 12 and then between 2 and 4.30 in the afternoon I run them raggered NO sitting down time in this bracket! its jumping in the trampoline or going to the park etc (I know being pregnant this is an exhausting time of the day but it is worth it in the end) get home have dinner by 5 have some more play, bathtime done by 6 and QUIET time so maybe some craft (stickers and paper are always a winner) or just a quiet tea part etc in bed by 10 to 7 and read them a few stories and sing a few songs and sit with them, my first daughter was fine to go to sleep herself, my second I have to sit with her, but she is so tired by then that she falls asleep quickly and then they are up between ! 6.30 and 7 (if yours doesn't get up around then WAKE her up to! get her into routine)You could just move the time brackets to suit 8 if you like, but I like having a bit more of the evening to myself hhaha...Show more

Danette Slotnick: I have 18 month old daughter 1 time mom pregnant with my second child. My husband granny says that my daughter should be in bed by 8 pm yes I try it before she just won't sleep through the night like that also granny says it affects their appetite I'm having a lot of trouble right now my daughter refuses to eat anything even self feed spoon feed you name it I have try it it's been two months and she doesn't want to eat anything..what is your opinion and what is the toddler bedtime routine you have..Thanks.....Show more

Conrad Puleio: My husband and I never fight. We rationally talk things through if we have a disagreement. We are very happy and peaceful. Our home is peaceful. When I spank him, I do it with a clear mind, I don't do it uncontrollable.

Raul Tllo: provided that the fac! et airbag may be grew to become off. If no longer it is heavily risky if there is an twist of destiny the youngster in front seat will possibly sustain greater accidents from the facet airbag than the crash.

Ollie Hamiel: Paper round is the only realistic option. Look for nothing else.

Alonso Crehan: No, not legal. Also not as safe as the ones with a five point harness. The one I bought the one that is good to 100lbs. So I only had to buy that one and that was it.

Tawny Grosskreutz: Do you have any other children? I have a niece who will do this when she wants the attention no matter if it's negative, turned to her. Your son wants attention.

Vita Moodie: Kids that age need around 13 1/2 of sleep. What time do you get up? Maybe she's sleeping in too late. Does she nap? Maybe her naps are too long. If you think that she's not sleeping too late and isn't napping too long, definitely getting her out for some activity could help.Don't worry what Granny sa! ys. Do what feels right to you.My daughter is 4 now but she goes to bed! at about 1am and gets up at around 11am. That's the schedule we follow and it works for us. She eats just fine and is healthy and active. What time they go to bed matters less than having some regularity to their schedule (because it's hard to go to sleep at extremely different times every day, even for adults) and getting enough sleep overall....Show more

Gus Leiby: As usual I suspect this kind of question is posted by silly kids looking to appear so smart.. . And see if people will answer. If so somebody out there can get some good out of my answer if they actually have a chil din this situation. You are spanking your kid for a accidental or possibly an uncontrollable by biological defect causing an uncontrolled release of feces? That's wrong. First you spend some money and have the child examined for a physical problem causing this. At three years old he's still in the permitted time to have such accidents. Only when you know he is doing it just to get a laugh o! r for to use it as a retaliatory action. Then spanking is permitted. But you may never have enough information to spank with certainty.

Eldridge Rieves: It's probably happening because his parents keep fighting.

Pattie Vold: in the stat of ohio where i am from a child is suppose to be in a harness carseat until the age of 4 AND 40 lbs. then that kind of carseat is ok.

Kaylee Schmittou: It's not so much the age, but height and weight. However, it's extremely unlikely that a 19 month old will be heavy and tall enough for a booster seat- my daughter is 3years 2 and 1/2m, on 91st centile for height and weighs 36lb (so tall for her age, and double your friend's son's age) and is still too small for a booster. I'd say that seat is dangerous for a toddler his age. I know she's your friend but think how you'd feel if there was an accident and the little boy was hurt, and you knew he was in an inappropriate seat? If your friend won't listen to you (maybe email he! r this Y!A question) then you need to take this further, even if it jeo! pardises your friendship, cos his saftey and possibly life are being risked xx...Show more

Serita Hefferon: Here is a fantastic resource - it is funny, helpful and you will find lots of unique items to make Potty Training Fun and Easy:http://www.squidoo.com/Potty_training_fun

Dulcie Edis: Yeah its been bothering me for some time the first time I asked she said it was fine and legal, then every time after I mentioned it she ignored me so I sent her an email with a copy of our state laws which say that a child must remain in a car seat until the age of four can't be younger.

Barrett Alosa: My son was 3 in August. We had him fully potty trained by then. Just last week he started to poop in his underwear. He has done this a week straight. Sometimes he will pee in his underwear. I do encourage him and praise him when he does a successful potty. When he poops in his underwear he does get a timeout and a spanking. He knows better. Has anyone ever had this! happen.

Nilda Bafia: NOT legal!!!! She's using a booster seat, for crying out loud!

Georgina Natal: It does make sense that he is looking for attention. I do have a daughter who will be two on the 20th. I thought maybe he was doing it because she isn't potty trained yet. I haven't tried faithfully yet.

Floy Fague: Okay the car seat that your child is in seems to be a lot safer for a child that age. Your friends car seat on the other hand doesn't have very good support if their were to be an accident. I would try talking to her again. Explain that the guideline's for a booster seat, the child needs to be of certain weight and height and he is neither one of those. Good Luck!

Toshia Metzker: Not sure if it's legal or not but it is a dumb thing to do. That seat is for taller kids who can use the "normal" car safety belt properly. My oldest is 4 and just got into this type of seat, my youngest is 2 and is still in a front facing car seat using t! he harness. If she was to get in an accident the seat belt would either ! not hold her baby in or could choke him. She is not being safe at all.

Roland Stampley: her child is not 30 lbs yet either. She's been using this seat for a few months now I'd say since about May? Her son is 27lbs. He's only 31". So he meets none of the requirements for either even age.

Torrie Weissenbach: Cut grasswash cars/ vacuumodd jobs around a persons housepet sitting Window washing on a house ( I hate washing the outsides of my windows i would pay to have someone do this)...Show more

Virgil Loatman: in ontario, a child must be rear-facing until 20lbs when they have the option to go forward-facing but they must remain in a proper car seat until 40lbs. after 40lbs, they can go in a booster until they are 80lbs *or* four-foot-nine *or* 8yrs of age (any one of the three).other regions have height and/or age requirements and they generally differ one to the next.my daughter was over 20lbs at 6-1/2mo but went forward-facing at 8-1/2mo because her car! seat was improperly installed in the rear-facing position (due to the stupid architecture of the car we were driving). i decided that properly installed FF was safer than improperly installed RF and turned her around after i got tired of having to sit in the back seat and hold onto her so she didn't flop over going around curves - because of the hump in the center of the back bench, it was impossible to stabilize the seat no matter what we did.she has been in a booster since she was 20mo old because we couldn't get a harnes that was long enough to go over her (you'd think manufacturers would realize that not ALL kids are "barbie" sized!).on the other hand, my 4yr old niece is still in a proper car seat with 5-point harness as she only weighs 33-1/2lbs....Show more

Clare Hoard: My dad doesn't give me allowance an there are no jobs for 13 year olds any suggestions

Tyler Burkman: If the seat states that a child should be at LEAST 30 pounds or 38" or taller, than ! I'd say it's illegal, and dangerous for the child. Your friend is prob! ably already using that seat to save money, since children can go thru 3 carseats before they're big enough to just sit in the car. We bought one that has a range from 20 pounds to 74 pounds, and it converts accordingly. I don't see why your friend didn't buy one like that (I got it at Target, it's even an Eddie-Bauer, if names are important to you, it cost us $120, and it was the cheapest convertible seat we found). Children honestly should be in a carseat til they're 4' 9" or taller, and weigh 100 lbs. I know that sounds insane, but that's the law now, but even some petite people are like that, so I'm sure there are age limits and things like that, but here in Texas if you're '4' 9" or under the line' you have to be in a carseat. Yes, it is your friend's choice, but seriously, it IS child endangerment. You need to think about whether that child's safety is important, or your friendship with your friend. But hopefully your friend will pull her head out of her butt an! d do the right thing, for the safety of her child. I hope this helps....Show more
