Why do you like Weezy?

Marcel Then: i dont watch the jeffersons-_-

Matt Tiry: He's clever and his wordss flow.

Dexter Dicostanzo: Go DJ Fireman The Block Is Hot Stuntin Like My Daddy Duffle Bag Boy (his verse)

Rolanda Merritt: well in terms of "flowing" the majority of all the rappers ive listed have much better flow, style, and skill overall.. and no problem, id post more if theyd let me.. if you like weezy, can you at least check out some of these links and see if you dig em? i guess it all comes with the generation, its a completely different style of hip hop, less lyrics that at least make sense and more pop beats, but thats okay.. its a taste i guess.. but like i expected, weezy fans cant provide me with an answer over 3 sentences long...Show more

Buddy Ardd: tl;drwayne's dope.

Theresia Fashaw: I dont know. I just think his raps are kind of catchy and that he sometimes makes songs better (like Down).

Lyndon Mattas: 'cause she always had a good comeback f! or her uppity ______ husband, George Jefferson.

Tamatha Neubaum: and in terms of being "past their prime" many ive listed are new underground rappers that still have very far to go! i would classify blu and exiles below the heavens, bop alloys substantial and marcus d are bop alloy, and fashawn's boy meets world as the best albums of the past two years

Herma Ellebrecht: Thank you audrey! im also glad youve read my entire question, if you wanna hear poetry, hopefully you can check out those links and let me know what you think. And its completely true that hiphop is so diverse, but before you place lil wayne #2 i would think you should consider such talented artists such as nas, black thought, guru, blue, bop alloy, common, cunninglynguists, doomidk.. i still dont understand why you wouldnt put lupe before wayne but like you said.. its a taste.. i would just hope you could explore more poetry in hiphop as well...Show more

Elfreda Grossen: Do you expect lil! wayne fans to have the attention span to read this entire que! stion?

Hilma Pestano: Despite the constant hate people express regarding Lil Wayne, I believe Lil Wayne is good, but definitely not "the best rapper alive" as his hype suggests. However, Hip-Hop is, like Rock music, divided into many genres and Lil Wayne mostly fits into the glamour genre that focuses on luxuries, such as "money, cars, sex," etc. In my opinion, Lil Wayne is the second best rapper in that genre today, next to Jay-Z because, unlike what many people say about Wayne, he is pretty above average in freestyling, his flow can be somewhat complex, and his wordplay and punchlines are entertaining, though they mostly have little effort put into them. Lil Wayne's main flaws are his voice and lack of overall subject matter. Others within the glamour category tend to just Rap about their luxuries without making it interesting, like Yung Joc for example. In regards to nicknames, I could not care less about what's "cool," so anyone that has "Lil" in their nickname do! es not gather my attention. I focus on their lyrical skills, not their names. Considering that you said that Lil Wayne fans never explained how Lil Wayne was good, hopefully my answer explains it. As for the rapper you listed below, many are past their primes, and/or uninteresting, although I love Mos Def, Rakim, and Lupe Fiasco. I prefer artists with the ability to merit poetic skills in various subject matter original enough and capable enough to put out consistent albums. I am not interested in old school Hip-Hop or Underground artists that bring nothing to the table.UPDATE:@Asker"Thank you audrey! im also glad youve read my entire question, if you wanna hear poetry, hopefully you can check out those links and let me know what you think."No problem. I will be checking out the links soon."but before you place lil wayne # 2 i would think you should consider such talented artists such as nas, black thought, guru, blue, bop alloy, common, cunninglynguists, doom"You misrep! resented my post a bit, which is a common mistake. I placed Lil Wayne a! s #2 in the glamour category, meaning I believe that he is the second best rapper alive that talks about "cars, money, girls, sex." The rappers that you named are not exactly glamour rappers. In addition, I, in no form or fashion, believe that Lil Wayne is the second best rapper of all time if you are suggesting such, but just in the glamour category. I have never heard of some of the artists you named in the quoted statement, but Nas is my second favourite American rapper next to Tech N9ne, and I also enjoy Common, Guru (RIP), and Cunninglynguists, but I will check out the others."idk.. i still dont understand why you wouldnt put lupe before wayne but like you said.. its a taste.."I never said that I would not put Lupe Fiasco before Lil Wayne. In fact, Lupe Fiasco is my 3rd favourite rapper after Nas because he's versatile, poetic, and his flows are well-written. Again, I meant that Lil Wayne is the second best "cars, money, sex," rapper, something that Lupe is not all tha! t concerned with, not the second best rapper ever. i would just hope you could explore more poetry in hiphop as wellNevertheless, thank you for the links. Being introduced to new American Hip-Hop artists is a treat for me."and in terms of being "past their prime" many ive listed are new underground rappers that still have very far to go! i would classify blu and exiles below the heavens, bop alloys substantial and marcus d are bop alloy, and fashawn's boy meets world as the best albums of the past two years"I will check those out as well....Show more
