Virgil Menefee: Okay your 3 'help's attracted me to this question and your vow to 'love' anyone who helps you made me decide to help you! :) Well it has helped the white man in the sense that it introduced him to what this particular place had to offer. The natives in exotic countries like India, South America etc have introduced many new items(spices in India, tomatoes in South America, Flowers in Florida etc) that the white man used to make trade, so one advantage: MADE THE WHITE MAN RICHER! Apart from trade items, natives have sometimes furnished the white man with knowledge(Indians taught the white men how to survive the winter by working the land, the Chinese taught the Europeans how to produce gunpowder etc). Regarding disadvantages of white men meeting natives, apart of some exotic illness I can't think of anything else. They introduced money for the first time in some cases and that's when things got lively, or in some other cases they introduced MORE MONEY. They brought with them the wisdom of the West, teaching natives how to build houses, roads, bridges, how to calculate in some cases, how to sail, how to dress, how to eat, basic knowledge. They also introduced technology(in some cases that was bad because like in Japan, the Portuguese gave them firearms which caused many deaths and suffering). Disadvantages of Natives meeting White MenWell for once they were discriminated in many occasions. They were forced to convert to christianity against their own will. It's true that the colonials developed the economy but in most cases the natives were just used by the white men, leaving them in deep poverty. It encouraged slavery. Many colonials enslaved whole native tribes. Sometimes(North America) the white men would move in, forcing the natives off their own land. You shou! ld end by saying that The Advantages tilt heavily on the White Men. They brought more ill fortune wherever they went than they did good.
