Sleep time & mental health?

Jonathon Labonne: And ,is it insane to hide items to manipulate someone behaviour? Give me more details... what you're referring to.This question intrigues me... I had this happen to me tonight! Someone decided to hide my keys and claim that I lost them elsewhere... was she trying to "control" me by taking my keys ransom? In response to your question about "noise", I like some noise even while sleeping, are you referring to soothing sounds of the ocean, etc?...Show more

Virgil Loatman: I listen to the radio while I'm sleeping, though I thing I get less recuperative sleep time (= less energy all day). And YES! it is insane to hide things to manipulate people!

Shelley Stevens: It is common for a person to need some "white" noise to fall asleep to ( ie a fan). As long as it is just faint "noise" there should be no problem. If it is something that pulls your attention then it could get in the way of sleep onset and continuity. The only way something like that coul! d harm your mental health is if you are not getting your 8+ hrs of sleep.Insane? The context matters. Manipulating someone to quit smoking or do something good...not so bad. Ask yourself "is this a better course of action than being direct with the person" and "who is being hurt by my manipulation". So, the hiding items thing: if it's a joke and the victim thinks it's funny then no it's not 'insane' but if the victim finds it disrespectful then it is. Let your integrity be the guide. Special situation: If the person trying to find the keys is drunk then it is his/her friends' responsibility to hide them. Take care....Show more
