Ending Corporations to Repeal Citizens United?

Willetta Munhall: Thanks mark, signed that one.To answer, the move was to get corporate money into campaigns. It passed way back when but has come back to bite us.Put corporations back as business's only where they belong and cap campaign money to set amount. This would force candidates to run on their merits and records, not blitz us with the bull we've had to put up with in last few years.Would be refreshing to see candidates put up their records and how they voted, not blow smoke up our keisters every day....Show more

Colby Millberg: @ Mark ....I do own stock in corporations and I am not against corporations per se. Under this plan all corporations would revert to general partnerships. So if you owned say 100 shares of Apple. Apple would become a partnership an you would have 100 shares. So you would lose the advantage of limited liability, access to capital, and so forth that goes with a corporation. The preference would be to add this as a "posion pill" into a ! new campaign finance bill that would dare the supreme court to overturn it and to essentially end corporations....Show more

Keven Woodington: Pass me some of whatever you're smoking. Why don't you people INVEST in corporatios instead of pissing and moaning?

Lawana Neemann: Life begins at the time of incorporation.

Bruce Calise: Corporations are when the public owns the business rather than just a mogul calling all the shots and raking in all the profits so why on earth would you want to get rid of corporations?

Hunter Beech: The supreme court HAS actually said corporations are people, in that Santa clause family vs the Monopoly Railroad case in like the 1799 or something dude.

Guy Bonamico: Here's something that I've signed:http://movetoamend.orgAnd I don't even support this because of Section 1; I support this because of Sections 2 and 3.The Supreme Court has been saying that corporations have constitutional rights as far back as 1888, in the c! ase of Pembina Mining Co. v. Pennsylvania. Indeed, Justice Ste! vens' dissenting opinion in the Citizens' United case had nothing at all to do with complaining that corporations have constitutional rights. Stevens had an entirely different reason to dissent. And Stevens had supported the concept that corporations have constitutional rights back in 1996 in the case of BMW of North America, Inc. v. Gore....Show more
